This song, remembering Rachel Freeman, Yuridia Martinez, and Kolby Crum, was a project begun by one of Rachel's and Kolby's teachers at Moore High School shortly after their deaths. For these children, death was not "the end of the story"--they are still "helping others" as their stories are shared with thousands of others to prevent impaired driving, and through contributions to the charities made in their memories (see below).

In Rachel's memory and in her honor, the Freeman Family established the Rachel Dawn Freeman Memorial Fund. This fund set up with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation will be used to carry on her memory by supporting the missions of charitable organizations in several different areas, including: hunger/poverty, children, health, and education. Grants from the growth in the fund will be given out periodically to various selected charities.
There are two ways to contribute:
1. Preferred: Send a check made out to: "Rachel Dawn Freeman Memorial Fund" to Oklahoma City Community Foundation, 1000 N. Broadway, Oklahoma City, OK 73102
2. Online at: donate.occf.org ($25 minimum)
OCCF is a charitable organization, so contributions to Rachel's fund are tax-deductible (if you itemize your deductions on your tax return). Money in the fund may not be taken out for any purpose except to make grants to tax-exempt charities.

Kolby left a legacy of kindness and of helping others. We learned after his passing that Kolby chose to be an organ donor. We honored his wish and he saved two people through organ donation. I made a promise to Kolby after his passing that I would continue his legacy. I volunteer and promote organ donation with LifeShare of Oklahoma. LifeShare is a non-profit organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant purposes and works closely with three transplant centers and 145 healthcare organizations across the state of Oklahoma to facilitate donations. I encourage donations in honor of Kolby, and I encourage everyone to register to be an organ donor.
